I’m back again! This time with a quick project that I did a few months ago.
This was a gift for my birthday a while back, and my first actual Lego piece – one of many I hope! I had been wanting to get one of these to try for a while now, but whenever I went to the store either they didn’t have one I wanted or the ones that were there were too expensive at the time.
I’m very go big or go home and all the ones I saw in the store that I wanted were always rather large or complex. I’m happy this was small one, it works as an excellent intro piece to the world of making Legos.
While I probably wouldn’t have chosen this particular one for myself, it’s still from the collection that I was eyeing for a while and it’s also of one of my favourite plants!
I had intended to save this project for another time (I thought it would take much longer to finish), but I was bored one day and thought – why not? – and actually managed to finish the whole thing in about an hour and a half in the afternoon.
It was a beautiful sunny day and there wasn’t anything else going on; I had a rare quiet moment in the house alone so I took the opportunity and got started on it.

The box was both heavier and lighter than I expected it to be.

The instructions say you are free to freestyle the design but since this is the first time I’m making anything I chose to stick to the pattern. Knowing myself it would have come out as something like a hideous blob. It’s very easy to follow and everything is separated neatly into 3 sections – separated into their own bags – so you can work on it without mess, or losing any important pieces.

First up! Bag one had the most pieces in it, and this one made up the base of the pot.

There was a lot more internal structure than I was expecting there to be. Despite the fact that you aren’t gonna see most of these pieces, it still all felt and looked very cohesive.

Bag 2 had much smaller pieces, and this is where my fear of losing a piece when waaay up. Luckily it wasn’t that bad – I had spread out on the table and set up barriers with the boxes so that nothing could roll away from me.

This one was the first branch and a few of the big flowers. They look so pretty on their own and the petals move! You can readjust them as you please.

Bag 3 is the same as bag 2, just a bit less. It’s the final and smaller branch.

I ended up with a handful of extras that I didn’t need at the end – thankfully.
The finished piece is sooo cute! It looks surprisingly realistic from a distance, and it’s very vibrant.

The whole process was alot more relaxing than I thought it was gonna be. I was expecting to be super stressed about loosing a piece or messing up and not being able to undo any mistakes, but it wasn’t like that at all.
The process was really fun, and I’m hoping to get another one soon to make more!
