Part 1
If I’ve had the poppy one for a decade then I’ve probably had this one for 2. I think this one was the first time I actually picked up as a proper piece to be made. I got it when I was in middle school from a local bookstore/school supply place while shopping for school stuff. I very clearly remember cause we loved going there, they always had the coolest stuff from literally every category you could think of.
It’s a kit to make the cover for a pillow. You can tell it was my first cross stitching attempt cause I used the wrong technique (the whole floss to make each cross, instead of one or two threads separated from the bunch – that’s why the squares are so thick).

Seeing as how I started this when I was young, you would think it would be finished by now, but I actually packed it up – to be worked on later – and then completely forgot about it (as kids do). I did remember to take it with me when we moved, instead of leaving it for storage, but even then it was packed up for years cause I fully forgot it existed – and also cause we never fully unpacked everything.
When I did finally manage to get around to getting everything out of their boxes and in the right place (shout out to moving across continents) I was very pleasantly surprised to find it. This time I was determined to remember it’s existence so I tried to keep it somewhere within my field of vision. I never worked on it again though (since the first time in middle school) cause I always did other stuff that was more urgent, or I just wasn’t in the mood.
Since starting this blog tho, I’ve been trying to keep myself at least a little accountable about my projects, so I figure adding it on here is a good way to guarantee that I’ll at least do something with it. So, without further ado, welcome to yet another multi part post! I probably will have a longer timeline in-between parts for this one just cause it’s bigger, and I do wanna finish the Poppy one first. Very, very, very optimistically I want to say that I’ll be working on it – inconsistently – through the rest of the year, so I’ll probably have an update sometime in January, but more realistically March.
See you then!
